The video series features biblical images about deserts and water and the distilled wisdom of the Desert Mothers and Fathers, nuns and monks from the early church. The Logues wrote an accompanying book of the same title that can be purchased for supplemental reading. Books are available for only $5 per copy (and are optional). If you're interested, please sign up now with the church office to purchase the book.

***Good Friday, and other weekdays in Lent and Holy Week are traditionally “observed by special acts of discipline and self-denial” (Book of Common Prayer, p. 17). The details of these devotions are left to the individual’s conscience. We recommend consulting a spiritual director and/or a wise and thoughtful priest in crafting your Lenten discipline.

*** Note: We typically use Rite II (contemporary language) for all worship at St. Matthew's, but this Lent we are experimenting with returning to Rite I (traditional, 1600s-style language) for the Daily Office and most midweek services.
