Sunday Services Canceled - Hurricane Irma Evacuation

Due to Hurricane Irma, Gov. Nathan Deal and Chatham County Emergency Management Agency have issued a mandatory evacuation order for all of Chatham County and coastal Georgia, effective Saturday, September 9, at 8:00 a.m. We encourage you to leave the area as soon as possible and move to a safe location out of the hurricane's path.

Accordingly, all worship services and activities at St. Matthew’s are canceled on Sunday, September 10, 2017. Please check back on the blog and/or Facebook on Sunday morning for a written service of Morning Prayer. It is a devotional that may be read alone or in small groups and will include a short homily.

As we prepare for evacuation, please look out for others who are not physically or financially able to evacuate. If you or someone you know cannot evacuate on their own, please apply to the Chatham County Functional, Access, and Medical Needs Registry immediately at (912) 691-7443 or https://dph.georgia.gov/.

May God bless you and keep you during this anxious time. Please pray for all who are or will be effected by storms this hurricane season. I leave you with this prayer, written by the Rev. Canon Frank Logue.
